I think they didn't want us to be able to balance a strong Fury, Charged Strike and Bow skill and maybe a Valkyrie all on one Amazon without really sweating the skill points (Fishyzons I think they were called?). However, if you were splitting the difference by, say, maxing Fury and Charged Strike and then throwing forty points into the Bows tree, your Charged Strikes will be even weaker now. Meteorb is probably fine for these since, unlike hydra, it'll hit everything in the vicinity and thus you're not losing DPS to fire immunes. The issue is that you can't easily farm stuff on the way to countess, since Hydras have a delay and might point at Fallen or Goats. Hydras aren't controllable like another skill so if they point at a Fire dude. Hydra/Orb is a bit obnoxious depending where you farm.
